How to Find Newsletter Sponsors in 2026: SponsorHawk Leads Six Options for Writers
Fentner ranks six ways a newsletter writer can find sponsors in 2026 by who does the outreach and what a first month costs. SponsorHawk is first because it emails proven newsletter sponsors for the writer at roughly ten cents per message.
Newsletter writers tend to find sponsors in one of two ways. They pay for a directory of newsletter advertisers and cold-email those brands themselves, or they join a marketplace and wait to be booked. We looked at six options and asked two questions of each: who ends up writing and mailing the pitches, and how much does the writer spend in month one. Prices come from each vendor's own pages; we read SponsorHawk and Passionfroot on 1 October 2026 and the four databases on 24 September 2026. SponsorHawk is our first pick.

The six, in order
| # | Option | Type | Who mails the pitch | Month-one cost for the writer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | SponsorHawk | Outreach service | SponsorHawk | $0 for the first 100 emails, then ~$0.10 each |
| 2 | SponsorGap | Database | The writer (managed tiers from $999) | From $39 |
| 3 | Who Sponsors Stuff | Database | The writer | Free tier; Sales Pro unpriced |
| 4 | SponsorLeads | Lead list | The writer | $97 (annual plan $970) |
| 5 | SponsorDB | Database | The writer | Prices were unreadable |
| 6 | Passionfroot | Creator marketplace | Nobody; brands book you | Free; 15% of matched deals |
1. SponsorHawk
The writer pastes a newsletter URL. SponsorHawk reads it to settle the subject, the readership and the category. Next it ranks companies by evidence of budget, putting first those that have already bought placements in comparable newsletters. Other evidence it weighs: new funding, live ad campaigns, and a fresh hire in partnerships or marketing. On 1 October its homepage gave totals of 30,132 sponsorships tracked, 13,337 companies and 12,640 named contacts.
SponsorHawk drafts every pitch and mails it from inboxes it owns and warms. Each sponsor gets one dedicated inbox for the whole conversation. Nothing is connected on the writer's side. When sponsors answer, SponsorHawk can respond from the media kit and attach the deck or rate card; any question about money or a meeting goes back to the writer.

Pricing is usage only. Building the list and looking up buyers is free. Each pitch that goes out is roughly ten cents. A card added at signup unlocks $10 of credit, which pays for the first hundred pitches. The writer sets a daily cap and can pause everything with one click.
2. SponsorGap
Newsletter sponsor brands in a searchable database, with contacts, exports, trend data and an archive of ad copy. Self-serve tiers were Starter at $39, Growth at $89 and Enterprise at $199 per month, with a seven-day trial. Its done-for-you outbound was priced at $999 monthly plus 10% of closed deals, or $2,999 monthly flat. A writer on a self-serve tier still sends every email personally.
3. Who Sponsors Stuff
A searchable index of newsletter advertisers. The free search showed 1,897 records and the paid Sales Pro tier 13,161, adding CSV exports and alerts. We found no price on the Sales Pro page. Outreach stays with the writer.
4. SponsorLeads
Sells a daily-refreshed feed of newsletter advertisers for $97 monthly or $970 annually; a one-off Boost costs $997. The writer turns the list into emails.
5. SponsorDB
Positioned as a newsletter sponsor database. When we opened its pricing page, no prices loaded, so we could not place it on cost.
6. Passionfroot
A marketplace on which B2B brands discover and book creators. For creators it is free to join. Brands pay 2% on top of every transaction, and Passionfroot keeps 15%, payment fees included, on deals it matches. Creators can also apply to brands' Live Campaigns. It does not send pitches for the writer.
What surprised us
We assumed the lowest month-one cost would come from a database's cheapest plan. SponsorHawk came in lower for a writer's first hundred pitches, because the starter credit covers them, and the emails are already sent.
